Or some other type of investment vehicle contribution like a mutual fund or IRA?

I'm curious to see who all asked for, gave or was given some sort of investment or storage of wealth this Christmas. If so, what and why?

I asked for Silver bullion from my family. Mainly because I've just recently started saving for the future and I first want to build a strong position in physical assets like silver to help buffer any loss in purchasing power and to see how the current political and financial (both national and globally) uncertainties play out so I can see how the markets react before I start to put some money in mutual funds and other equities.

ROL, not ROI.

I got rockers, scotch, and ammo.

An overall win.

Rocking chairs.

There's an old man who makes very nice ones and I've admired my parents' set for a while. They just went ahead and got them for me.

It seems like an old man gift, but they are really nice.

Straight cash homie

I did get a cheap sony cd/dvd player which was a must for my surge in shows/movies starring Charlie Sheen. To keep this MT related, the movie Wall Street is included on my playlist.

That sounds like an awesome gift to me. Made in the USA by a man who takes pride in his work and a place to relax on porch? Sounds like a win-win man.

I wasn't complaining. They are 100% cypress and the guy could be gone any day. It was one of the best gifts I have received in a long time.
