Yeah but imagine the money. And the TV contracts. And the fans who would come into the NFL because in today's day and age, everyone deserves a shot and a trophy. The league is trying to secure all the money it can because they believe a huge payout is possible with the lawsuits over concussions.
The 32 are very worried about the courts digging into their pockets. I have no doubt the playoff teams will increase for the benifit of the fans and player safety of course

Half the teams making the playoffs is why the NBA and NHL suck. MLB finally got it right and the NFL has had it right.
