I started using a newer 870

Guess that might be the problem. I'm still shooting the one I got 25 years ago when I turned 18

This, if I am having to choose one gun for the rest of my life it is this. If I am going with an auto, I am going with the VERSAMAX, thats right, forget the 3Bs.

That was my point, the new 870s are junk imo. But the older ones, especially the wingmasters are great guns.

Well, I am sorry to hear they are putting crap out now. I guess my son will have to get my duck gun when he gets older.

I shoot the super vinci and it does everything I could ask. Lightweight, never hung up, etc.

Get a B gun that fits you end of story

On shells –I used estates for years no problems, then went w Kent Fast steel no problems but lately I am using Hevisteel (mix of hevishot and steel). Stuff is deadly on late season birds esp divers.

I have a buddy with an 1187. It is a POS compared to my 35yr old 1100. I haven't ever, I the 15yrs of hunting with it, had it ftf or fte with any shell. It shoots faster than any new gun I have used too

Ding Ding Ding

1187 are stamped not machined and will not last 35 yrs - B guns are madelike old 1100s. My uncle has an older 1100 and its a thing of beauty
