They move it up every year without any change to the recruits.

I just sent them this email...lets see what response I get....

To Whomever It Concerns:

I once declared rivals as the best site when it comes to High School Recruiting but I have noticed lately that the rankings are becoming bias. When will the infamous "Bama Bump" end? It seems as if you commit to Bama, you automatically get a bump in your rating the next go around. This has to stop. Please get back to being a fair and unbiased recruiting website.

Thanks,

See Andy Dodd. He was bumped AFTER he switched to LSU...

Their top classes have them playing for three out of the last four big games, so they may be on to something.

Either way, its all about money. And that fan base spends more than most

I say let them continue with their Bama bias. It's doesn't serve any purpose other than to glorify Bama. It does nothing for the product on the field. To me, it's just a number.

Would you find it better to win with a lower rated class or higher? Who do you have more respect for, a team like K state who wins with a avg 25 recruiting class or a team that is expected to win every year because of a top 3 class (see Texas)?

It doesn't matter to me as long as we win

The image of great recruiting, does in fact, help actual recruiting.

EXACTLY. Those guys in this year's class needed a bump. Johnathan Allen, O.J. Howard, Derrick Henry and Demarcus Walker are freaks. Alabama is gonna be a handful over the next few years. What's new right

The whole Bama bump talk started because the guy that built Rivals was a Bama grad...He no longer runs rivals though. He now runs 247 and the same practices have begun over there.

I remember when Barry Every got fired for saying something. The biggest bias these sites show is towrd their sponsors, mainly the All American Games. It is a fact they they will bump guys playing in the AAG that their site sponsors. ESPN-Under Armor Rivals- Army etc...sad but true.

I think it kinda sucks but you have to admit they're playing for NCs year n out... so maybe rivals is getting it right as much as I hate to say that

I personally think it's pretty obvious that the great majority of Bama's so called "bumped" recruits have lived up to their billing. The quality of player and football they put on the field tells me that their kids are just that good. I don't believe the bias at all. If there is one it has more to do with Saban's reach in terms of perception. Recruiting sites recognize his ability to evaluate talent and therefore hold his opinion in extremely high regard. I see no real issue with it personally.

As previously stated, if the old Bama bump were true(I know that the one Rivals guy went nuts and admitted to some of it) it would have moved over to 247 and no longer be at Rivals. Shannon Terry is leading 247 now along with the majority of the old Rivals guys.
