The Jazz is a much better name than all alternatives. But, I do like the Pelicans if the Jazz isn't available, which it isn't

You're insane.

Krewe
Knights
Brass

Anything would've been better than Pelicans. People are laughing at us on sportscenter and on twitter! I know I know..who cares what other people think but damnit, Pelicans?! That's tuurrible.

When the Thunder put their colors, mascot and name publicly, it was ridiculed more than anything I've ever seen. Now, the name rolls off tongues without any hesitation. It's amazing what winning can do to the normality of a name.

Yeah very true. I never saw the big deal with Thunder. I though it was kind of generic but meh.

I would have loved the Brass (I pimped the name for months), but I can roll with the Pelicans. It has a lot of potential with merchandising, marketing, etc.

I don't love the name, but I like that it is something that has meaning for New Orleans/Louisiana.

On its own Hornets is pretty cool, and it fit really well in Charlotte b/c of the history, but it was generic in N.O.
