watched a couple of videos and seen a few commentators mention a fix but wouldn't fully come out and say if it would work or not due to their lack of network admin knowledge.

anyhow. I can't do it, because of my setup...

But if someone on here would and share your results, maybe it would help others.

*Granted this isn't likely to work for people who already had shitty internet. Could try tho, but i doubt it'll make a difference.

For those who have modem/router combo's: Unplug your xbox from router and plug the network cable that was running into the router directly into the modem.

Of course, this will kill your wireless and any other devices running off your router as well, but could be worth a shot.

I think due to the progressive lag compensation that TreyArc is using, the routers are falling behind to due "router bloat". Simpy, routers nowadays with upload/download, memory, cache tend to get bloated. Causing you to lag a little if your not host or close to the host of the match.

Used to do this for CoD 4 before I moved out of my parents house. Never had any lag whatsoever, but never had anything to compare it to. Idk how much of a difference it made.

ETA: and obviously different servers, less volume of players, etc. all play in. My post was pointless

COD4 was different.

COD4 & W@W had no lag compensation system. It was all local host. So you had 1 guy playing that was always waayy ahead, but then again you didn't have 6 players waaay ahead of the other 6 or 3 players waay ahead of the other 9. I'd prefer it this way personally.

BLOPS went with a super progressive lag compensation. Therefore hitmarkers.

MW3. Agressive lag compensation. "wanted bullets"

BLOPSII progressive lag compensation.

Again, maybe it's selfish but those who have shitty internet shouldn't be babied causing everyone else to suffer. Bad internet, that's your own problem.

Also, now with the addition of skill based lobby search preferenced, that may be affecting it too.

Of course you do. You are average at best running wireless like the rest of us. Back of the line, Peves.

I saw a youtube vid where the guy had the modem connected to a switch and hooked up his router and xbox to it.

If your xbox is connected to the switch would it not have to compete with the network traffic on the router?

Maybe it wasn't a network switch but like a train track switch

One way is router gets Internet, other way is Xbox gets Internet

Just flip the switch when it's time to game
