true.. but i dont expect tulane to win any games cause if they cant win in cusa i highly doubt they will win in the big east
"You'll be playing in the Big East" sounds a lot better to recruits than "You'll be playing in CUSA". Especially in basketball. Conroy should be able to use this to land some decent talent, and Tulane type players aren't going to be one and dones.

Conroy will be lucky if he's still there by the time Tulane moves to the Big East.

Scott Alexander was talking on Conroy like they were tourney threat this year, I'm thinking didn't they just squeak out a 3 pt win over Southern?

Before the season it wasnt unreasonable to think they could be pretty good. Not NCAA tournament good, but some type of postseason tourney. Ricky Tarrant was great, Josh Davis was good and the team was pretty good last year before Timmons got injured. They brought in Louis Dabney who's supposed to be pretty good, but he's hardly played. That said, the team has been terrible. A blowout loss against Ga. Tech and a loss to a bad Nebraska team. There 5 wins are against terrible competition.

One of the best teams in tulane history once only beat southern by three points but having said that this team is not good ...
Timmons is playing like he is afraid of getting hurt again, dabney is not back to 100%, and Tarrant is not playing at near of a level that he was a year ago ...
I just do not understand what offense that Conroy is trying to run ... Well I understand it but I am not sure WHY he is doing it..
Of course they only beat Loyola by two points last year - they squeaked out a 12 point win tonight
And not to pick one the man because lord knows that I am a fat arse but damn, Conroy looks like he has been on the Rick Majerus diet. Looks like he could drop dead of a heart attack at any moment ..

This is seriously very funny to me. Tulane SUCKS on all fronts. They have money, that's it. Tulane Football has been irrelevant for a long time. No big loss for USA. ECU has been wanting to go BEast for years, makes sense geographically for them.
You are a fan of La Tech. I wouldn't harp on other schools too much. And BTW, Tulane will better than Tech in the not too distant future because Tulane actually has the money to commit long term to the development of their athletics programs. It's just now about to come to fruition. Getting kids to come play in NOLA will be a ton easier than Ruston. You won't be able to pick up the loose South LA players that the BCS schools don't pick up.

People really do not understand just how much Katrina hurt Tulane. And that was on the heels of the President of the university trying to move Tulane athletics to DIII status two years prior. That was a double punch in the gut ..
Up until that point, Tulane had won MORE CUSA championships that any other school and had the only perfect season in football and held the highest final ranking in the AP/BCS football polls.
Tulane is just know getting to the point that they can put enough money into the program to be competitive again. It may take a couple of years but with this move out of what had become a terrible CUSA it should speed up the process.

Tulanes current recruiting class is great too, and within 2-3 years could be yielding 8+ win seasons.

Congrats on the move!
What kind kind of enrollment hit did you guys see over those years?
