Holy crap at the ducks

Great hunt this morning with quite the mixed bag. Greenheads, gadwall, teal and spoonies.

I have never seen the number of birds that we have had here today. Not much water around but if you had water you had ducks.

My dog started pretty slow but it was his first real hunt after a little while though he started to get the hang of it and out of the 12 the two of us in the blind got he picked up 11.
This was also my first hunt with the new duck call. I was very pleased with it and apparently so were the ducks.

Lil heads up. Give it some time for the later flight for big birds and pass up on the spoonies. Still, nice looking area you are hunting. Were is that at?

There were a bunch of mallards but they didn't fly until late. We had already killed all the spoonies when the big ducks started flying. The numbers of geese were pretty staggering.

We killed 11 greenheads today. Most by 7am. Unreal numbers right now

Done at 645 today. Shot 2 spoons at 615, the rest were teal, mallards and pintail
