He had to of gone on a cocaine or meth binge to accomplish that much weight loss that fast imho. When Matt Damon lost all that weight for a movie roll he said his body nor health ever fully recovered.

Here's another article on the weight loss. He is 6ft and down to 143lbs. Damn. I hope he isn't doing permanent damage...

Yeah, Damon was concerned that he was seriously ill after his weight loss, but he lost his weight in a dangerous fashion -- he just quit eating. I think if you follow a plan with a nutritionist, most of the time you'll be OK, but losing that much weight can be hell on your organs, e.g., kidneys, liver.
