You don't get the hate for a guy who barely averages 3 yards a carry?

You would think this would be obvious. We trade up to get this gump in the first round.

Then every time he touches the ball he thrusts forward a couple inches, gets no penetration, and falls to the ground as soon as he is touched.

He couldn't be more of a bust.

It's ignorant to hate Mark Ingram. Unless he was doing something like say...porkin your wife...but I don't think many people have to worry about that.

ANYHOO

No you shouldn't hate Ingram, he's just doing his job (albeit poorly, with the exception of the last game). If you want to be frustrated with someone, I suggest Pete Carmichael for failing to use him creatively and telegraphing the run plays waaaay to much.

Well I don't actually despise the guy or anything. I was using the word hate loosely. But I don't see how anyone couldn't get the frustration. And it isn't just Carmichael. Payton pretty much did the same thing with him.

No it is ignorant to attack those who dislike him simply because, I assume, you do. We have every reason to dislike him and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Payton turned it around mid season, or Mark did. One or the other, or both. Early in the year he looked a lot like the first 6 games this year. Then the second half looked closer to the eagles game...not consistently that good, but definitely an improvement.

I must be forgetting that but I really don't remember him getting better as the year went on.

We really haven't been running between the tackles well at all, and the problem is the Falcons have very athletic and quick OLB's. Hopefully Weatherspoon is still injured?

We must keep it going. I think it will, with the emergence of Ivory and the fact that Atlanta is 24th against the run this year. We need to establish it early to keep our defense off the field.
So true. A few seven, eight minute drives ending in TDs will be key. Just keep the Saints "defense" of the field as long as humanly possible.

Good stat. Agree if we can get Ivory going good to pound out the yards and Pierre gets a couple of break out screens, it could also open up the passing game big time.
