Got a bunch of friends and family coming down here for the UT/MSU game. I'm putting in a request for some good beers in exchange for the room and board. Seems fair to me. Anyway, I haven't been up there in awhile. What's available and where is the best place to get it? Cordova area preferably. TIA

Are you talking about craft beers produced in the Memphis area (I'm including Mississippi)? The only ones I can think of are Ghost River and Yazoo. The Ghost River pale ale was excellent from what I remember, but I'm pretty sure they only sell them on draft. Yazoo is in bottles and pretty widely available, but I don't know shite about Cordova, only actual Memphis

Also, I used to pick up Dogfish head stuff from the local liquor store when I was in college. Flying Dog beers are also widely available and pretty good.

ETA: you CAN get Ghost River in bottles but I cant tell you where, sorry

I'm talking about distributed in Memphis. My dad lives in Cordova and I don't want to put him through too much trouble. He doesn't know shite about craft beer. Google says a place called Natalie's Liquor has a good selection, including Dogfish Head. I've yet to have it and it's been on my list for awhile. Will probably call them in a bit to see if they can confirm that they have it. Was hoping someone had some local knowledge. I haven't lived there in 7 years.

Thanks for your help. Dont Recall seeing Flying Dog or Ghost River discussed on here. You recommend?

I was a big fan of both, but keep in mind this was in college (all of 4 years ago) so my tastes may have changed since. Only had Ghost River on draft but it always found it excellent

Joe's Liquor on Poplar has a pretty good selection. Most of the beers are priced as singles, so you can get a good variety.
