Nice. Does this mean you'll get a third date?

Hahah who knows.

I texted her Saturday night around 8:30 to see if she was out. She texted me back at 3:45 am when she got home.

I asked her to come out w/ me last night to hang out w/ some friends but she was tired and had work to do but said "next time?"

Hmmm....Maybe she's playing hard to get. Did she stay out with you until 3 am?

Nah, about 12:30.

I had kickball playoffs Saturday morning and she had class. (grad school)

I did run into 337tigergirl that night though when we were at the Columns after dinner.

After going to Adolfo's on a first date, I decided that I won't go to any place with over $100 dinner for two on a pre-consumate date.

I wound up not liking the girl I went with, but just wanted to eat there so bad. I have all these places I want to try that I don't want to eat at alone. Being single I wind up taking first dates to August or Stella.
I need to break that habit. With most Metaire girls they are happy going to Olive Garden or Cheescake Bistro.

Just go sit at the bar to eat when alone. I have no problem doing this.

Yeah Adolfo's is a "I really enjoyed date 1" or "date 3 or 4" type of place for me.

Same here.

I am supposed to go to Irene's w/ a friend and Mr. John's w/ another friend though.

This was date 2 for me w/ this girl.

1. Is she a saintsation or a honeybee?

2. Were you running on st. Charles in your LSU law shorts when you originally met her?

3. The best thing about you getting more dates with this broad is hopefully we won't have to see 30 first date in Nola threads made by you

1. neither

2. You need to keep up. I can't run right now b/c I injured my knee.

3. If you don't like my threads, stay out of them.

Am I like the only person on earth who thinks dinner is too much for a first date?? Whatever happened to coffee or a couple of drinks?

No, you're not the only one! I am right there with you! I have a "5 minute rule." I know within 5 minutes of being around a guy if there's chemistry and if I want to spend more time with him. There's no sense in a guy buying me dinner and then me feeling guilty about it knowing that I'm never going to go out with him again. I'd rather meet for a couple of drinks and then if we hit it off, then maybe extending the date to grab some food.

And I've said it before on this board...I would actually be completely turned off by a guy wanting to bring me to a place like August or Stella on a first date. I would think it's over the top, pretentious and that they were trying to hard.

I never do dinner as a first date typically unless we have hung out before not as a date.

I don't want to go out to eat on a first date at the beginning of the date whether I've hung out with you or not, unless I suggest it, which wouldn't happen unless I've hung out with you A LOT and already know I'm interested. I'd be bored silly, anyway. Dinner dates are for later on if the dating continues. They aren't for first or even second dates for me. I'd rather go out and have drinks, chat and maybe grab something light and easy later.

I already know after 5 minutes about the chemistry and if there's chemistry, I know we won't get bored or run out of things to talk about if we go eat.
