That's what people said about Justin Hamilton, but he was drafted in the 2nd round. No one saw that coming.

Yeah we don't want to lose him. We will need him to step up over his play from last year if this years team is going to have a good year.

I'm wondering if someone like Stringer or Courtney wind up transferring after this season. Both could stand to lose playing time with the talent infusion coming in over the 2012 and 2013 classes.

And being a second round pick is nothing near a guarantee that Hamilton will play one second in the NBA. He's probably still going to be in either the D-League or overseas in 2 months.

That's fine. I'm just saying that it is a mathematical certainty that if we bring in 6 players next year, then one of the following has to happen.
1) Someone goes pro (only an option for O'Bryant at this point, although he has very marginal prospects).
2) Someone gets kicked off the team or is nudged to transfer
3) Someone willingly transfers out.

Hamilton wasn't projected to be drafted at any point by anyone.
And a 2nd round pick is still an accomplishment and that's all I was saying. His comment equating JOB to a third rate Euro player is unfair.

I think you are wrong. He has size and can shoot. He will be a big body that can defend and be an option off the bench when a big needs a breather.

I'll believe it when I see it. His play really nose dived toward the end of the year, big, slow white guys don't last too long in the NBA.

JOB to the NBA is not that far of a stretch. He is the most talented guy on the roster and if he gets touches in the paint he should have a break out year. If JOB he has an All SEC type season I think the NBA will actually be an option for him next summer.

It kind of is. He would need a 1st team All-SEC season to warrant leaving early. He is certainly talented, but has a lot to prove. He was a "HUGE" get for Trent Johnson, but that has to be taken with a grain of salt. He was not a top 25 recruit by most services, so we need to temper our expectations. It was just odd for Johnson to get a top 50 guy, so JOB was seen as the next Stromile Swift by a lot of eager fans. We have since learned that he had some serious work to do.
That said, he will almost certainly get better coaching in the next 2 months than he did in 2 years with Johnson's staff.
