You are forced to buy a rock island armory 1911 for concealed carry. Do you get the full size or officer's model?

Officer's model. I want whatever I conceal to be small as possible so I'll actually carry it

I'm hoping somebody tells me they make a commander size. I'm not seeing it.

Holy shite I see it.

Going get you one?

I'd probably still go with the officer for concealed carry, but it's a 1911, you're gonna wanna shoot it, so the commander is a nice middle ground I suppose.

report back. I have heard nothing but good things about them. Could be because with the low price comes low expectations.

They're inexpensive and go bang every time. I have an ATI (also made by armscor) in commander length and it is my carry gun. Have never had any problems with it.

They make 3" 4" and 5" models. Good luck finding them around here though

The fit and finish on my "Tactical" model rivals some of my more expensive 1911's.

From what I've encountered, I think they produce quality.

ETA, gun porn:

I know an FFL really well.

Please tell me they don't have ambidextrous safties.

You taking a ccp class? Me and KR been trying to schedule one, but it's looking like it'll be after hunting/football season.

I'll make a post or BC when we sign up. Probably sometime in February. Precision has one every Saturday.

DS, you even take your boat out this year?

Yea I used the shite out of it for about 5 weekends in a row.

About to start trying hard to sell it again. Damn things got a brand new deep cycle battery in it too.

I met a guy a while back who was a licensed instructor. Said if I could get a group of people together he could do it at our house or camp and fit our schedule.

I'll try and see if I can find his contact if y'all are all down. We can probably stretch it out over 2 evenings and probably skip the dumbed down parts they have to go through when you sign up for a class with a bunch of idiots.
