Bo Jackson "running over" Brian Bosworth

Why do they always talk about this like the first thing to hit was the back of Bosworth's head? I know Bosworth was the original giant douce, but damn they make it sound like he ended up in the hospital. If it hadn't been Bosworth, it probably woundn't even be in Bo's highlight reel. Bo was just talking about it on ESPN. Here was the play. LINK

Right. It's more about position. If Ray Lewis attempts the same tackle, Jackson still goes into the endzone

i remember watching that game when i was young, and i remember thinking that The Boz got trucked on that play. You're right about the fact that it would not have been a highlight unless it was Bosworth; he was a commercially viable linebacker and was supposed to be a badass.
Bo Jackson was the full package at tailback, and anyone who saw him play knew they were witnessing one of the greatest backs to play the game.
I did feel terrible though hearing him in an interview for the first time. I was squinting and craning my neck trying to help him finish his sentences.

Bosworth may have been a douche but he was no giant
that was his whole problem in the NFL

If you don't remember or weren't alive then...it's hard to imagine how big The Boz was coming out of college.
He wasn't just some star linebacker who was drafted...he was going to dominate and transform the position...he was THE BOZ! They had signs everywhere in that stadium...the Boz is going to dominate...watch out for the Boz...people acted like the middle linebacker position was scoring points - it was crazy. Dude was a linebacker...and you would have thought he was Jerry Rice or Walter Payton.

The greatest athlete OF ALL TIME. Not the best RB of all time though.

It was his shoulder that was the problem, when he played he wasn't bad. But he only played in two dozen games.

Shrewd on their part. It would probably take 6 men to replace you.

It's talked about because he was one of the first players to have "hype" and marketing. Jim McMahon, Deion Sanders, Michael Irving and guys like that built themselves up, so people like it when they fall down.
And if I remember, that was a Monday night game before football was on every night of the week, before NFL network, etc and you only got to watch two or three games a week. It was seen nation wide and people saw that the game didn't measure up to the hype. That's why it's so well remembered.

Not sure about that, BUT I got my point across and things WILL change. Including the paycheck.
