seems like with the ridiculous sept schedule we could have picked one in-state school at least to give them some national exposure. they would also be bringing their a-game as we've seen in the past with other in-state rivals.

i mean towson?? we had to go all the way to maryland to find an opponent?

eta edited bc i didnt get townson's state right ..like it matters

Before 1980 Grambling would have whipped LSU's arse.

I see no value in that for either team. There is a whole lot of pride in that conference. They do their own thing which seems to be a part of the SWAC history.

if by whipped, you mean keep the score within 28, maybe

An old man I used to work for used to say that Grambling recruted by driving through the countryside and when they would see a young man plowing a field, stop and ask directions. If he picked up the plow and pointed with it, they would give him a scholarship.

No. Cholly should have fought harder to integrate more. Grambling got the best black players in N LA. If LSU started a defense with 9 DJ Welters, it would have been a real long day.

Thank God that's behind us.

The ignorance here is amazing. Charles Alexander would have racked up 500 yards per half playing Grambling in the 70's.

LOL! Pre-integration days, you do realize that Grambling was a power house school. Back then they were the modern day equivalent to a Boise State.

Now, I don't think Grambling would've blown out LSU, but they damn sure would've been competitive and had the talent to win back then
