Is this the one where they show how a SEAL team and a Delta element infiltrated? If so, this was one of my favorite Pablo docs ever.

It's called "The True Story of Killing Pablo". 2 hours on TV and I think it's the one you're thinking about. It goes into what you mentioned, the level of U.S. involvement, how he just killed and bribed whoever the frick he wanted, CentraSpike, Los Pepes, etc.

That's the one. Lots of gory footage.

Amazing what Escobar was able to accomplish.

I always thought that blowing up that airliner to kill 1 guy, building his own prison, and offering to pay off Columbia's national debt were the most ridiculous. It's amazing how much money he was able to make and how much influence he had.

yeah, again this was probably the best show I've ever seen on the History Channel. It's crazy that this dude was so huge and such a threat to our way of life that we sent our best assets in to help take him down. That's on some Bin Laden shite.

To be fair, we actually got Pablo

The thing is that I've never thought killing him made a huge difference here in the U.S. I mean if you killed the head of GM they aren't gonna stop making cars. There's too much demand for coke, and FWIW i've never touched that shite.

I'll check it out. I just finished "Blow" by Bruce Porter yesterday. It's been one my favorite movies for years but I never got around to reading it. They changed a lot to make the movie(which I don't really mind since it was so good), but it was a good read with a lot more detail.

just outside of Medellin is a tourist site which is one of Escobar's old mansions (Hacienda Napoles) and I think where he was set up when in "prison." It has some of his old cars, etc. and even some of the wildlife that he liked back in the day such as hippos.

There's also a nightclub here in Bogota that is the penthouse of a large hotel that I've been to a few times. The place is huge and has a panoramic view of the city and was were Escobar kept his family while on the run from authorities. Must be nice to have had all that money.
