The Raiders are one of the most dysfunctional franchises in the nfl. If anything the fact they dropped him should be a positive.

This is the same organization who actively tried to part ways with Marcus Allen in his prime and traded Randy Moss to New England for a 4th round pick

if you are taking a running back in the first round and he’s not a complete bust (he had a few 1,000 yard seasons) you always exercise that 5th year option. You can then franchise him the next two years and let him walk after without giving him that 2nd contract that usually never ends well for the team.

I think the difference for the Raiders is $2M by not exercising the option, that’s really not a big deal.

Personally I would never draft a RB in the first and would let them walk, it’s such a fungible position just draft another one

The Raiders don't have any of their 2018 draft picks on the team, so don't base your argument on what the Raiders did. They are a sh-t show.

That doesn't fit the boards narrative that all the Raiders problems were because of Carr. You know, because everyone here watches all the Raiders games except the people happy with the signing.

How do you think we got Brees in the first place?

Carr is so GOOD that the raiders gave him a no trade clause, which he used. That’s why he wasn’t traded. He also got a raise.
