Renaming the Democratic Party

In a society where every vestige of racism and/or its legacy (real or perceived) is being sought out for condemnation and removal, why is there not any substantive movement to rename the party of slavery, reconstruction, Dred Scott (all justices voting for were Democrat I believe), segregation, and anti-civil rights? This would appear to me to be the first and most logical place to start addressing these wrongs.

I tried to start a movement on here several months ago to get everyone to refer to it as the Authoratarian Party but it went nowhere. Maybe I should have tried Conformist Party, easier to spell.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. The party name, regardless of your sentiments regarding the "flip," is still synonymous with all things historically racist in this country. It's really not arguable. The only reasonable question is why isn't there a push to rename it.
