Does the PGA run the world rankings?
Posted by DeafVallyBatnR

Because DJ is 44 and it looks like the LIV Golfers are all being squeezed out of the majors by low world rankings. Unless they are exempt from winning the Major already.
Kind of looks like good reason for all the law suits from former PGA players.

We’ve gone over this before, but:
The OWGR has a set qualification system. LIV created their league knowing it did not meet the qualifications. The players left for LIV knowing the league didn’t meet the mandatory requirements.
I agree that it doesn’t feel right, but I don’t get why people would be upset with the PGA Tour or OWGR when both LIV and the players joining LIV knew what they were getting into.

Guys like DJ don’t give a shite. They have past champions status.
The guys like Ancer, Gooch, and Matt Jones are totally screwed though.

Then I am sure attorneys will be busy.

Beating a dead horse...
If Justin Thomas decided he was going to take a year where he decided to play only events that didn't meet the qualifications for earning points he'd drop like a rock in the rankings too. Still a top player but not playing in events that PROVE he is a top player.
To keep your status you have to go out there, earn points, and prove it. If you chose not to do that you should lose your standing.
