The Saints brain trust chose the career loser of a coach over the guy who won a Super Bowl with his backup QB

Really makes you think Saints are in driver seat for Payton’s value to a franchise

I don't think the Saints ever had a shot to get Pederson.

Not to mention Sean Payton “passing” on Patrick Mahommes

Sean Payton recommended to Mickey Loomis to hire our current HC

pederson had what:
50mil + in cap
1st overall pick again
a young QB prospect
solid defense

yeah; as much as I like Pederson that situation looks more promising than what Saints had

Of course if Payton didn’t frick up the Mahommes trade

He wouldn’t have quit on us in the middle of a contract that he signed

How yiu know? Link it. I read we never offered. If I was him I woukd have picked the Jags over us just for Lawrence. But they have been a joke of a franchise while we have been amongst the top tier for years.

I think he woukd have picked us over the Jags but Loomis and co. wanted Allen.

Hopefully we can offer something close to this to someone in the next couple of years

It was a sham interview process, they were always going to hire Allen

I know that and you know that. But that other poster or whoever says otherwise is talking out of their arse. They were going with Allen no matter what. Think Peterson asked for the interview, but outside of him we didn’t really interview any other viable candidates.

I called this last year, welcome to mediocrity.

Please educate me on how SP fricked up the “Mahommes trade”

Buff was #10, NO was at #11, KC was at #27

Kansas City moved up 17 spots to trade with Buffalo, 1 spot in front of NO. Buffalo traded a first-round selection (10th) to Kansas City in exchange for Kansas City's first- and third-round selections (27th and 91st), as well as a first-round selection in 2018.
