Long story short, my neighbor and My fence were damage by Ida. Neighbor decided to put up his own fence between our two properties. I offered to split the cost and use the poles that were already in my chain wall. He said that we was good and he just put the fence up on his property.

I ended up taking down what was left of my fence and really don’t like the idea of having two fences back to back. Is the 6” gap between his fence and my chain wall enough to grow jasmine?

Why not just hook into his fence? Why would you put one up as well? Just different type?

I am hooking into his fence. I’m not putting mine back up but I still have my chain wall there.

I want to put jasmine between the chain wall and my neighbors fence. I was just curious if people think it will grow in that space.

Should grow fine. So you are not putting up another fence? Just chain wall cement, 6 inches of ground and his fence?

Jasmine will grow onto his fence....and eventually over it if left unpruned.

Monkey grass would take over those 6 inches of ground without the upward travel that jasmine has.

What variety of jasmine? If it’s a ground cover like asiatic, that’ll be fine. If it’s confederate, it’s going to climb your neighbor’s new fence. If someone planted something that grew up my fence, I’d be pretty pissed off, since it significantly reduces the life of a fence.

Yes, it is absolutely enough space to grow both asiatic and confederate Jasmine. Be warned though, both are a pain in the arse and will require a good bit of maintenance to keep under control.
