One potential positive about looking terrible Saturday

Maybe this becomes a trap game with Tennessee overlooking us with a big rivalry home game against Bama the next weekend. I know their fans up here in Tennessee are talking about how they can beat Bama and Georgia this year. Also, I believe it will make our guys hungry after putting up a terrible offensive performance. Hopefully the tigers bring the Vols back down to earth this weekend and give me first hand experience of Vol fans melting this year.

It's a top 25 LSU on the road.

They're not overlooking us.

They're coming off a bye week and this is a victory that could continue their up rise. Ain't no way.

They scheduled a bye before this game. They aren’t looking anywhere but BR…

One potential positive is that they are probably going to put 8 people in the box. If Daniels can figure out how to just throw the ball up and let the one on ones happen, it could be good.

By reading the posts of their fans, I'd say they are overlooking us. I know we aren't playing the fans but that sentiment does creep into the minds of the players. We got the bad game behind us and now I expect us to play well Saturday,

I wonder what the film might tell them about our offense? Maybe the Auburn game was a 3d decoy.

I mean, good for Tennessee that they aren't terrible for the first time in I don't know how long, but they really aren't all that.

It's amazing to me how fans of teams can be so ignorant of reality when it comes to assessing the teams they beat. They are hyper-focused on having beaten two "ranked" teams. But how good do Florida and Pittsburgh look? Not good at all. And everyone else has been a cupcake. The most impressive win that either of these teams have between them, imo, is LSU's over MSU.

I don't think we need Tennessee to look past us in order to have a chance to win. I think LSU just needs to play well, unlike they did Saturday.

Similar to 2019, Auburn found the best way to play against our offense and it didn't cost us a game. This is good because coaches have a week to prepare the offense for that defensive scheme and Tennessee's defense isn't good enough to do what auburn's did.

Tennessee isn’t overlooking anybody. They’ve been down for too long to take anything for granted

They have been talking about our game on local radio in Nashville for the past week. Most of what I heard is about how the early start time helps them and that we've looked bad so far this year.

Man amen. They're a good team with a good scheme on offense, but you cant convince me this isnt an 8-4 team parading as top 10

I can easily see Tennessee losing this weekend and beating Alabama the following Saturday.

The flip side of this argument is they've been down a long time and might not know how to handle success emotionally.

Nick Saban has always said the hardest teams to coach are the ones coming off a NC. I know Tenn hasn't won a Natty but they have won more and are getting more respect than they have in years, its possible they look past us and are chomping at the bit to play the "big boys".

Like others have said though, I don't think LSU needs Tenn to look past us to win, we just have to play our best game. I do think it will be HUGELY important not to fall down by multiple scores like we have in every P5 game this year.

If I were a betting man, I don't think I'd bet on the Tigers but I won't be "shocked" if we win.

Yeah, their ranking is really bizarre to me. It's like the pundits desperately want them to be relevant again, but that's more of what you expect to see with teams like USC and Notre Dame (and we see it with those teams all the time). I'm just not seeing a team that is anywhere near top 10 quality. Like you said, good team, good offense, but they just haven't been all that great, overall. They have been given way too much credit for beating some teams that have proven to be highly overrated.

Hopefully they're rusty coming off the bye week. After an ugly win LSU should be motivated to prove they can play better and keep Hooker in check. The Tenn offense is going to be hyped all the way till Saturday and rightfully so. Lets see if House can come up with a scheme shut him down and Kelly/Denbrock can exploit the porous Tenn defense.
