My kids go back this week and wanted to already start a countdown for next summer.. It’s a Catholic school and some quick math, with holidays I guessed about 130 days total.

This seems like a good opportunity to introduce your kids to a calendar. They can mark the holidays and count it themselves

I mean we always had 4 9 week periods… stands to be 180 days.

Ever heard of Excel? You can open up a spreadsheet and type in the day then drag down and you can fill in the dates from first day of school until last. Color the cells for weekends and another color for holidays and you can then figure it out from there. It will take less than 5 mins.

It is always best to guess at math. I mean, it isn’t math, with a definitive answer based on numbers.

When I submit my homeschool paperwork to the state for the school year - I have to promise we will be in school for 180 days - that includes standardized tests and field trips.

Forgot about those 9 weeks. But the semester grade was all that counted.
