Been reading a lot of different posts/opinions on our recruiting for this year. Want to share my take.

1. First of all, FAITH is a strong word. We all need to put some faith into BK, his staff and the recruiting process. Give it time and support, not the constant whining and complaining. Yes, BK has different strategy as he is recruiting more northward and outward than we are used to, but let it develop out because it's only the start of BK's first full year.

2. NIL- yes, it is playing a factor, but its not end of the world for us. LSU undoubtedly has less funds than some other colleges (UT, A&M, Georgia, Ohio-State). Also we are off to a later start implementing NIL procedures and processes. NIL has and will also tear down some of LA borders going forward, so we just have to accept that. This will change, as things are getting kicked into gear, have faith.

3. I agree with some frustration as we have been in endless recruits top 3's/5's but only pulled very few so far. But many upcoming potential gets are there. Jaxon Howard (MN), K. Jackson (LA), Z. Heard (LA),Joshua Mickens (IN) (Highly rated by on3 rankings), X. Atkins (2024-LA), Jeremiah Hughes (NV), Dashawn Womack (MD) and so on. Let the process ride out.

4.BIG must gets in my personal opinion- Zalance Heard and Shelton Sampson. Other hopeful wishes/wants- Tyree Adams, J. Howard, Chase Bisontis, TJ Shanahan, Darron Reed, and Shamurad Umarov.

5. Although it's early, I definitely would like to see the staff start seeking out some lower rated Louisiana recruits. We need numbers and Louisiana has a rich history of low-star recruits turning out to be great players (Jefferson, Honey-Badger, Russell Gage, Amik Robertson, Matt forte, etc.) However, transfer portal will help again after the season to add depth to the roster.

Overall: Put some faith in the team and staff. LSU will be okay, it's not the time to whine and moan. The recruiting landscape has changed, so lets give everything some patience. Comments/Thoughts/Inputs welcome

I know myself and many others have been losing their minds over this bull corn of a recruiting roller coaster ride. Maybe put your minds on other things for a bit. Like --->

The recruiting is about to pick up and then will roll once we get into the season. If we have a good season, a few of the guys instate committed elsewhere will probably flip to lsu. This happens literally every year. Yeah I know, muh NIL. No we don't have the money the Texas schools do, no one that cares about football does, but lsu kept up in the facilities arm race and in ballooning coaching salaries, I don't understand why some think we are suddenly broke

Not sure about the flips but winning cures a multitude of deficiencies in the recruiting processes.

They might flip and they might not. All I'm saying is every year there's always the one guy the board bleeds over all year for committing elsewhere that ends up signing with lsu. Would be cool if we pull one this year, especially if it's Derrick Williams

Not sure I was clear but I basically agree with you. making judgements now about the 2023 recruiting class is not really smart, IMO. Things will change based on how teams do.

Point 5 is the biggest and by far most important thing to understand. LA talent is just different.

I assume the large net being cast is due to existing contacts nationally and will narrow as we get closer to SD and going forward. Hope so at least.

There are a few important points here that the board needs to reminded of.
CBK's recruiting plan is a PROCESS just like in every other part of the program. This process is to make LSU a DESTINATION for recruits from any part of the country and at any position.
CBK/CBP know how to do this. It's how ND could recruit to just below elite level for so long. Only now they will be able to take the elite recruits that they couldn't get into ND. Both Coaches have said as much.
DBU/WRU are parts of what sells the LSU program. CBK is building toward OLU/DLU/LBU/TEU/RBU/QBU selling the Program - at the national level - also.
