WFDT Father's Day edition

Took it easy today for Father’s Day. Fried some fish, shrimp, crab fingers, fries and hush puppies. Had a leftover ham bone so I cooked a pot of big white limas. Made rice, threw a couple of pork steaks on the pit in case somebody wanted something besides fried food. Made a potato salad and home made tarter sauce. Got my bartender fed, too! :)

No dinner, lunch was brisket, pulled pork, coleslaw and peach custard pie. Red wine

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads on the board! Looks like some of you put in some work!

It’s my son’s first Father’s Day and both he and his dad wanted a rice n gravy meal, so that’s what I made them. No picture of it, though.

For my husband, I ordered an Ina Garten coconut cake from Gold Belly. It was much smaller than I thought it would be (should’ve read the details), but he thinks it is delicious.





For my son, I made chocolate chip cookies. I will definitely be using this recipe again! Not a great photo, but he and my daughter-in-law loved them.



Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Wagyu Tri-tip with chimichurri, and potatoes soaked in rosemary garlic beef tallow and cooked alongside the Tri-tip and topped with Parmesan.

Diversion Pizza after soccer games at St Amant. Had a build your own Cauliflower Crust w Pesto Sauce, Pepp, Italian Sausage, Mozz/Cheddar mix, Mushrooms & Olives. Easily the best cauliflower crust I’ve ever had. Was like a thin crust (crispy) pie…. Wife had pepperoni & son had supreme. Homeade choc chip cookie w vanilla gelato atop. Very, very good.

St Amant here as well, surrounded by good food out here.
