Behind Arkansas, Kentucky, Bama, Tennessee. I think LSU will battle Auburn and A&M for the king of the second tier.

I think this team is in the Top 3… just my opinion.

Florida is in that mix too.

I think if votes were polled TODAY LSU would be picked to finish 8th in the SEC. However, it appears the margin between 5 and 8 is pretty thin

Without directly comparing them I would assume right around the middle. Below bama, Arky, auburn, Kentucky, tennesse, I’m not sure what Florida looks like, but I’d say we probably compete with them/A&M and miss st. In the middle of the conference.

It's hard to say since it's all new.

The really high-ranking teams in the league will all have lots of guys back from last year so the media will rank them higher. We're more of a wild card.

But player for player, particularly once the season gets going and they get plugged into the system, I think you'll find this is one of the top-tier teams in the league. Hill and Williams are SEC-level star players, Miller was going to be the best player on our team last year and then you have three Top 100 recruits any one of whom could flash as a Freshman All-SEC type player.

And then Mwani, who's due for a big leap.

You never know how it's going to go, but there is no reason to fear the SEC with what McMahon has put together. We'll be right there in the hunt.

I think having a few guys that know McMahon's system so well is so key here. There shouldn't be too big of a learning curve for the other guys because of this.

And he's a great X and O guy and motivator. I think we end up 4th-ish in the SEC and beat some highly ranked teams along the way. We'll lose a couple we shouldn't because we'll have a few freshman getting big minutes, but all in all, we make the tournament and go dancing.

At the top of the middle of the pack. A handful of teams are signing multiple 5*s this year alone.

Solid middle part of conference, 6-8 range. Conference has a ton of talent in it overall, not an indictment on McMahon. We went from #14 to mid-pack in a matter of weeks really.

Kentucky
Alabama
Arkansas
Tennessee
Auburn

All without a doubt have a better roster than us. After that, a bit murky really and we're solidly in that group after them. Hard to pinpoint the next group exactly because the amount of transfers is ridiculous really. A&M and UGA took 6 transfers, Missouri took 5, Florida took 4, MSU took 3..etc...

I think in the top 5. The BB coach has done a fantastic job considering the current situation the BB program was in after WW departed.

Efton Reid was a 5. Many times they are ranked that high due to their size and potential. Some take a few years to show all of their stuff.

I'm a big fan of experienced depth. Its a team sport and that takes time to develop across the whole team.

Well on paper it looks formidable:
4 players 6'10" or taller,
7 who are 6'7" or taller,
5 guards
3 returning players

I'd say a possible NIT-caliber, middle-of-the-
pack SEC team at least.....though we will
probably not have any post-season...

Yep If I had to place us right now I would say 7th behind the teams you mentioned and then Florida(screw fudge), but depending on how well Miller plays and if KJ transfers over to the SEC well we could be bumped higher.

Florida has brought in some very solid transfers (though they are all backcourt players except Alex Fudge). They also return Colin Casleton (All SEC) and Myreon Jones (4th leading scorer). The biggest question for them is can they get any production out of the frontcourt besides Caselton? In that respect, I'd say LSU's roster is more "balanced" while Florida's is probably a bit more talented man for man.

If a vote was taken today LSU and Florida would be picked to finish 7th and 8th...The order is up for debate.
