Maybe this time they will keep the pot and descending in the setlist since they left those two out last time in Nola

I saw them 3 or 4 times over a span of 2-3 years and the setlists were almost identical for every show, except for maybe 1 or 2 songs. It was kinda disappointing TBH.
This is why I stopped going. After the show with Primus opening I gave up on them. They put on a beautiful production, and their musicianship is always perfect; however, they don't do anything different in order to please the crowd. It's just a cash grab, and you can see that by the difficulty in selling out shows now. People have grown bored and have stopped going. The prices they are asking for tickets is obnoxious as well.

Saw them February 2020... just beat CoVID. This time around the tickets are much more expensive. Can't swing it.

Salival?
Ha…don’t think we’ll ever see that again. Kinda like No Quarter cover. Was lucky to see it

Really excited about this setlist. If you haven't watched this gem, do it. It's a bass player's treat.

Cool video out there of Culling Voices. All four are up front in chairs. Danny playing guitar for the first half-ish before the drums start

Anyone seen any of the shows on this tour? Setlist looks weak. Does the show make up for it as usual?

Weak? The Oregon show was prob one of the best set lists I’ve seen since late 2000s.

Replaced Opiate with Sober last night which, is kinda disappointing. See them Wednesday and hate missing that gem

I for one could do without sober or stinkfist for the nola show. Give me the deep cuts. throw swamp song out there or 4 degrees.

I've seen Tool over a dozen times and never seen Sober. I'm OK with that.

Field report from last nights show:
Absolutely amazing. My 8th TOOL show and frankly, they get better every time. They just do. Last night was no exception. I almost always get seats centered in the back of the arena to capture the visual of the entire production, but this show was 5th row and against better judgment, I accepted the seats through a friend. Wow, what a difference to get TOOL in your face. It was a pounding experience. These guys are technically near to flawless and to see technicians do what they do at the top of their game at that range was an absolute treat. Got robbed however as TOOL did not perform Opiate. Fuggers
If you are like me and believe the best TOOL seats are in the back, you'd enjoy the pleasure of getting the show crammed down your face. Glad I did that, but I will return to the back for future shows.
As for the opening act: Blonde Redhead. Don't. That was actually painful. The female singer, although cute, sounded like a 16-year-old in the shower.
Was thinking about comments of those who say they are not willing to pony up for another TOOL show or seen em enough to be satisfied, and I too began debating as to whether I would in the future. Well, I've decided I will never miss another TOOL show if available. That's just it. These guys are aging (so am I) and who knows what the future will bring. They are the pentacle of hard rock shows anymore and opportunities may become fewer. So I will pony up again...and again because, yunno, TOOL is a thing.
