Went there in December and got their omakase. Not impressed at all and likely won't go back there to get it

We got one of their apps that was really good though

Same here. I agree that Umami has the best sushi in BR and is up there with the best restaurants in BR. I do miss Cong though.

Seemed like the nigiri was poorly done, may have been an off night for the chef. Fish was cut way too large which made it seem too fishy and not as decadent, like the fish was of poor quality. The fois gras and eggplant eggplant nigiri were the best ones.

We didn't come away like, "wow, this was really good" like we did at some of the other places in NOLA we've been to
