Headed down to Austin today to look at houses. We've been many times in the past but never really get out of the Rainey/Zilker/Bouldin Creek area. Any restaurant reccomendations outside of that area worth checking out?

Staying at the JW and have dinner plans for tonight with some friends at Fresa's on 1st Street.

Magnolia Cafe on S. Congress is one of our fav's. Not dressy and interesting food options.

Licha's on East 6th for mexican
Jacoby's on E Ceasar Chavez for southern with a nice outdoor area w/ river view
In the same area as Jacobys is Justines (french), Llama Kid (peruvian) and Central Machine Works a cool brew pub in a converted machine works building.

Breakfast tacos at Granny's on E Cesar Chavez or Veracruz all Natural (many locations). The chilequile taco is awesome at both places.

in south austin, Cosmic Cafe is a great outdoor chill space w/ food trucks including Leroy&Lewis (named one of the top barbecue places in Texas) and a brick& mortar coffee/beer place.

I find myself in Austin a few times each year - Cosmic is my go-to when arriving or leaving. Whether I'm waiting for my room to open up / need to get out before the airport, I love stopping there for a coffee, beer and bite from one of the food trucks. Great outdoor seating available.
