Anyone have any reviews or experiences with wen generators? I'm looking at a 4000 watt inverter generator, just to run a few lights, charger phones and run a fridge in case of a power outage. Can get a wen from home Depot for $360 right now which is about half the price of any other brand. They appear to use the same motors as the predator generators

Pretty sure there’s a big thread on the outdoor board that recommended Wen Generators that were on sale. Lots of experiences shared there.

I got 3-4 buddies that bought probably a dozen from the OD board thread. They love them.

Here is the OB thread people are mentioning. I haven't heard any one have a negative experience with one yet.

Yes I ran one for about a week straight after Ida. Worked flawlessly. Outstanding buy for the price.

I just went ahead and pulled the trigger. Very good reviews online for it

You’ll be happy. Opting for the magnetic dipstick was a good choice too. Don’t know if they have it for your model or not.

No shite. I didn't realize he was talking about the 4000w inverter. I don't need one but if they have them for $360 I'll buy 2 just because

Bump for the link

Eta: maybe he’s got a gift card or something. I’m seeing the GN400i for $403.35 at Home Depot. Still not bad

HD link if this is the one

Sorry, it's 363 at home Depot after the 10% military discount. Didn't mean to confuse anyone

I have the 2250 Inverter that I used during the day for 12 days straight for Ida. Powered my Fridge, Wifi, couple of phone chargers, and box fans. Would run all day on 3 gallons of gas.

Yea, I'm looking at the 4000w one that Gene linked from HD. I didn't realize it was showing me prices online with the military discount already added. So it's $400 regularly, but I'll get it for $360

I bought the small 2250 inverter when they were on sale a few months back. Read enough good reviews on here to pull the trigger. Still sitting in the box waiting on next years hurricane season.

Woot.com lists them periodically.
I bought one a few months ago, but haven't had to use it yet

Got the generator today and so far so good. I am running it for a few hours now to break it in and then going to change out the oil. I'll probably do the same tomorrow

I have ran my Wen GN625i 6250 watt inverter generator twice to just run it. Yesterday I ran it to power two 1500 watt electric heaters in my garage being it was 12 degrees outside. It took two pulls this time also.
