Just wait until the academic shackles of ND are broken and he can recruit unrestricted.

All I been wanting for over a decade is LSU to get a coach that consistently has LSU rolling on offense. LSU with legit offense is unstoppable. We had it one year.

Now have a chance to finally find an offensive guy to takeover this program and dominate for years, and they hire an old defensive guy who never had a top 10 offense coaching at a top school and handpicking opponents.

I think Kelly is a good coach and will do well at LSU. But he won’t be there very long and it’s gonna be same problem if they have good season good offense, OC get hired somewhere else gotta keep replacing them.

This happens all over the country. He has managed it very well. No reason to melt unless you are just looking to do so.

Managed what well? He’s had one year scoring in top 10 and that was last year at Cincinnati. If it was so easy Miles and Orgeron would never have been fired.

Melt? Just another term jackasses like you have used so much and incorrectly that it doesn’t mean anything anymore.

I said he is a good coach and will do well. I just personally think LSU could easily be an Alabama type dynasty with consistently great offense and they hired old defensive guy.

Even if he works out he won’t be here very long. But just being competent is a huge upgrade and might get him a couple Natty’s.

In 31 years as a head coach, Kelly has amassed a record of 284-97-2, which ranks him first among all active FBS coaches in career victories, ahead of Alabama’s Nick Saban (272 wins) and North Carolina’s Mack Brown (265 wins). Kelly has only had two teams finish below .500 during his 31-year collegiate career.

There are 120+ teams, many of them shitty teams that keep playing each other. You don’t have to be top 10 in scoring to be the best team, and you can be top 10 in scoring and still go .500

The fact that his last 4 years were top 15 means he consistently has a great offense. Lane has Ole miss 18th this year for a reference, while LSU is 78th

Can't really put much stock into that considering the soft schedule they play each year. I would be interested in ppg for/against avg total offense /defense avg for teams they played those years thst were ranked in top 25

He was a Defensive Coordinator prior to him becoming a Head Coach.

Why are you more confident in Lincoln Riley's ability to field a decent defense than Brian Kelley's ability to field a decent offense?

I dont see it.

Saw a tweet last night that he and Saban are the only two coaches in college football whose teams have both averaged scoring greater than 30 ppg on offense and allowed fewer than 20 ppg on defense that past 4 seasons

Everyone is reading the posted stats incorrectly. Opponents PPG thats been top 15 is a Defensive stat.

Based on strength of schedule, It doesn't look any softer than LSU, on average, over the last 5 seasons.
