1) The man took over one of the worst programs in the country and turned it into a winner.

2) He is not a one hit wonder. He will win 10 games or more for three years in a row.

3) coached under and learned from the two best coaches in the game currently.

4) he has had coaching turnover and replaced those coaches with competent people.

5) he’s a strong recruiter.

Gus Malzahn and freeze both came from this conference. He’s doing as good or better than they did. he just beat freeze , Davis, and Bowden, three former sec coaches.

Sometimes you don’t get what you want. Sometimes you get what you need.

I would have no issue with Napier. He’s not necessarily a safe hire but his ceiling could be highest of anyone out there.

He is a Master Communicator. Amazing part is what he has done with UL's defense. He is offense-minded, but has brought in great coaching personnel on that side, and recruited great. Offense side, he loves big, moving lineman. Recruited 3 great, young running backs. He loves the spread offense, but also loves smash-mouth football. This guy is LEGIT. We see it everyday here in LFT. Guy is amazing. Whoever gets him is getting a GEM....

You don’t have to twist my finger I’m in. I think he would do a great job. He is a good football coach I like the way he prepares his team and can make adjustments at halftime.

Reading TBL and Rabalais article this AM, Riley and Napier are the only 2 on both lists. Campbell is getting some late play on both so could be in mix.

When it’s all said and done it would be unprecedented to pull Riley from OU, and if Woody is using the eye test from this season ULL is the tougher more physical team.

What I really like about Nap is he learned how to bury the skeletons in recruiting from Saban’s approach. Jimbo and Kirby practice this as well, and if we’re being honest we’ve fallen behind both A&M and UGA in recruiting last 2 classes. Nap immediately fixes this and gets dirty day 1. O could get dirty, but the emperor has no clothes was exposed.

I’m not sure Riley, Campbell, or Aranda (if we go off the board) will be able to mix it up as well with SEC elite as Nap.

Personally... no sauces, I think we are down to Riley then Napier. I think Woody has done all his discussions and Riley is who he prefers but if Riley just wants to stay in Norman then Napier will get the call.

People can insult or say what they want but unless you personally spoke to all the candidates you don't know what Woodward knows. I can tell you from running a business and hiring many people, the person on paper or the person in their past job isn't always who you get.

And everyone in the college football coaching world says the same thing about Napier, he's got "it". I trust Woodward and those people more than posters on a message board.

Agree, Advocate revisiting Title IX and Riley’s defense of Joe Mixon is curious timing in the search:

Napier will land a great job.

A few whales must say NO before LSU extends offer.

50/50 unless someone snags him early.

How anyone could be ok with this is beyond me.

That’s straight up Alleva bullshite and Woodward isn’t worth half of what he’s being paid if that’s how he conducts a search.

Wait what? This is where you start?

They went 5-7 and 4-4 in conference their last year with Hud, bro. That's not "one of the worst programs in the country", especially after they had some success with Hud just prior to Napier.

This ha. They had a guy a few years prior show he could win 10 a year for like 4 years in a row. Ull wasn't some dormat when he took over.

If the options on the table right now are Riley, Aranda, and/or Napier, I'd be thrilled with any of them.

Despite what the reactionary crowd wants to say, any one of those would be phenomenal hires for LSU, and most importantly, none of them would leave LSU any worse than Ed is leaving us. Not even close.

You talking about the guy who never won 10 games there? That guy? Because Napier is the only coach to ever win 10 games there and he has done it 3 years in a row.

They did have a guy win 9 games a few times until he got them all vacated though. I dont mind people not wanting Napier, its completely understandable and the arguments against are not without merit.

But at least keep your arguments truthful if you are going to make them or if you arent lying and just dont know what you are talking about, maybe you should just not say anything. It would be a better look.
