Can the judge/jury push this thing to next Monday to avoid weekend destruction of Kenosha?

Judge absolutely should throw the case out. He won't. He has had numerous opportunities to toss matters (and the whole case) before it reached the jury and has punted to the jury every time. He wants the jury to do the jury's job, but he is supposed to be a gatekeeper and has not done his job. It's politically easy for him to wash his hands of it and put everything in the hands of the jury. But it's not how it's supposed to work.

At this point, my big question is whether he can issue a directed verdict or JNOV if the jury is hung. I would guess the answer is no. Even if the answer is yes I don't think he will have the stones to do it.

I predict the Jury, cowed by the mob, convicts him. And then they riot anyway.
