That's exactly how it came across to me too
Could have shown a little class and been gracious and just put the rumors to bed but he had to act the smarta$$.

Years ago, some Texas booster said he was the coach they wanted. You know that was some rich old a-hole with Longhorns on the hood of his car and an oil well in his front yard. Ever since then, he gets mentioned in connection with any primo college job. It’s silly. No way in hell would the Rooneys let Tomlin leave. And he’s got enough cachet built up in Pittsburgh that he would need to have multiple shitty seasons before they canned him.

Do you not understand how insulting it had to be for him to have to answer a question like that? He answered it exactly as he should have.
