it was crazy how much prices were jumping during the pre-sale. When I first got in there were tickets in the 400 section for $200. Now they up to $800.

Once I finally got in they were $590, I tried to buy but it didn't go through. When I refreshed it was $830 for 400 level. Screw it. I'll hope for the best that they come down.

I would rather just watch from the battery than pay $800 for 400’s, or even 300’s.

I feel like this is a fairly recent phenomenon. Used to be that when purchasing "directly" from the team/organization there was a face value price and that is what you paid until they were sold out. Obviously, after that once you were dealing with the secondary market you saw constant fluctuations/variations in price based on supply and demand, etc.

When I bought LCS tickets a couple of weeks ago there were no fluctuating prices on Ticketmaster during the official Braves/MLB sale. All seats in X section were $200, all tickets in Y section were $125, etc.

What I saw today with the varying and fluctuating prices was crazy. I guess MLB/Braves decided they weren't going to let the scalpers have all the fun this time and started jacking up the prices themselves as tickets became scarce.

Kind of sucks for those who like to buy tickets directly from the team but in a way I could see how this will actually discourage scalpers when they have to pay a premium to scoop up a bunch of tickets - they might not be so sure they can mark up them up and sell them at that point.
