That becomes its own set of issues.
There are several specific oil and gas fields in Louisiana which are exempt from a lot of reporting requirements with regards to stripper and incapable wells. They’re exempt because ownership of those wells changes so often that the state either cuts them a break or they get completely abandoned and become the state’s problem.

^^Absolutely this^^
Furthermore, this is how leftist prog filth dem scum react when confronted with truth and facts and are called out for their lies.
Dems react to being proven wrong

The bulk of Kern County oil fields are west of Bakersfield. In the desert from what I've witnessed. The stuff in Long Beach is ERD from offshore.
This is some fine political grandstanding.
There is plenty to be outraged about right now but this is just a shiny hook.

There’s an oil lease in Wilshire, home to all the Hollywood execs. How are Latinos and blacks more affected by oil drilling? There’s a fake building downtown filled with oil Wells.
Huntington Beach is also filled with producing wells. This is the most expensive zip code in the US.
This will frick up Aera, a shell subsidiary, in Ventura CA.

I just dripped more urine into my pants than what those wells produce.

Elk Hills is west of Bako as well as Chevrons oil field. To the east is Kern River and Kern Front owned by CRC and Chevron (if they haven’t sold). The eastern stuff is fricked as oildale is surrounding half the leases.
Elk Hills and the western fields are desolate, but that field has been sucked dry.

I’ve always been fascinated by urban O&G in LA and the lengths operators go through. Real estate should cover P&A costs:

Ventura has some gushers over 200 bopd . The others are strippers, but still produce. Signal Hill has some great pcp wells too.
Brea, east of LA is still producing as well.

At the end of the day all those low pressure sucker rod wells are obsolete and the production on them really isn't worth any sort of investment.
So I circle back to my earlier statement. It's a manipulative ploy targeted towards political leanings. California is still the hot bed of liberalism right?

I logged a well in Compton while I was working out in Bakersfield. Down in Long Beach/LA, there are wells still producing all over the city. Not sure if there are any new wells being drilled but yea they are definitely in residential areas.
I agree it’s quite the grandstanding though.

Everything is depreciated and paid for. 3 bopd at $80 and $25 lifting and facility costs is decent cash flow.

Ahem.
The oil and gas were there first. Just waiting to be recovered.
Take down the houses, all of them.

While that's all true, the US can still get all the production they require from west Texas.
That basically relegated O&G in California to nothing more than a podium speech for politicians.

Its California.. Who cares?
They need to cut it in half and make north california a new state.. Move all the trannies to L.A.
