I think it is pretty close, LSU has more recent success, UGA has more historical success. Both have great recruiting areas with built in advantages both fanbases are weird in their own ways. Kirby has their program in a better spot currently than ours and is set up for the immediate future with how he has recruited on both lines. I say it's a toss up personally.

Very similar jobs. Both have their pick of recruits in talent rich states when they are good. I don't really count GA Tech. Both top 5-7 jobs.

Fayetteville is a much nicer place to live than Tuscaloosa. That is pretty irrelevant to most recruits and coaches.

UGA is not a bigger brand than LSU. Orgeron is probably a better coach than Kirby and we’re shitcanning him. Open your eyes. UGA is Ole Miss. white trash posing as middle class

I think LSU is a legitimately good job. But If UGA was open this year, Riley might listen to that pitch. FWIW I like LSU about 1000x more than UGA.

I don't think town matters much. I think state matters, because it is going to correlate with size, upside, money, media exposure, etc.

Georgia has access to more resources, probably more than any other school in the SEC

The only thing that matters to these coaches regarding the state is the amount of recruits living in it. LSU and Georgia get plenty exposure and money. That’s irrelevant to the size of LA and GA.

I think UGA and LSU are fairly comparable jobs. 247 Sports agrees. LSU #5, UGA #3

The reasoning makes no sense. UGA spends more money on recruiting yet has zero titles since the Cold War ended and LSU has 3 and played for another. It isn’t luck or coincidence. Louisiana has better skill players in state and they mostly attend LSU

Meh, recent success doesn't always correlate to potential success. Georgia is as loaded with recruits as Louisiana. The right coach at UGA coach go on an epic run.

LSU wins titles, but they probably don't have the bullshite politics like we have.

I lived in Alpharetta, GA. People there would tell me Atlanta was the New York City of the the south lol. I’d ask them “have you ever a heard of Houston?”

LSU is a highly attractive job because of outcomes (and the built in recruiting asset), UGA is a highly attractive job because of promise/upside.

I agree both are good jobs. I think UGA has a lot more appeal if you're trying to lure an already high-end coach. Like Riley, although I think that hypo is pretty dumb as Oklahoma is a more prestigious football program than either UGA or LSU.

Not popular in this thread, but I strongly believe winning big at UGA will be on a different level in prestige than winning big at LSU in terms of media/legacy/money considerations when/if it happens.

I'm a LSU fan and 2 time graduate but it took us 45 years between titles. Georgia is a top 5-7 job and so is LSU. It doesn't mean they haven't been in a drought as far as titles go. It's certainly not because LSU has advantages or disadvantages over UGA.
