Why waste money by placing them 12 nautical miles away. Why oh why would that waste be needed? Why not place them on the coast? They wouldn’t have to be anchored so deeply. Hey. Let’s put them 12 Nautical Miles out all the way to the coast. Just have them generate of the state’s electricity and prove us mouth breathers wrong?

Surely rich liberals are not jumping in the NIMBY group are they?? Nahhhh. Surely not.

wind farms on the ocean are stupid. wave farms make more sense, especially the kind that use the waves to pump saltwater onshore to run turbines, cause you can combine that with desalination using the electricity that generated onsite

Anyone remember the game Command and Conquer?

You NEVER put your power plants on the perimeter of your territory where it’s exposed to the enemy.

The wind project will consist of 84 wind turbines that can produce enough energy to power more than 400,000 homes. The administration has previously said it expects the project to create 3,600 jobs

So helping the already wealthy first, not the underfunded communities. So liberal of them.

Well I was involved in a wind farm plan many years ago for the GOM snd it folded because it was determined that there just wasn’t enough wind to make it worth while. The deal went up the Atlantic coast and it’s doing well.

I wonder what had changed in the GOM?

What will he do once the environmentalists complain about the birds being sliced to death? (That IS an actual complaint they make about those turbines.)

Crazy as he may have sounded, that glorious Orange bastard was correct as usual. Commercial wind turbines are a deadly threat to birds of prey and bats, so much so that the UK has banned them due to thousands of hawks, kestrels, eagles, and migratory birds wiped out while in operation throughout the UK. In North America there’s only been 4 major studies and the degradation to the native avian population is significant.

Taking this change into account, it can be projected that approximately 681,000 birds are currently killed by wind turbines in the U.S. each year.

And along came a hurricane and took it all away.

What could possible be wrong with a power source that is intermittent, has a short life expectancy, a big environmental footprint, kills a lot of birds and has a maintenance profile more akin to an aircraft 200' up in the air. Now put it on the ocean with salt water and storm waves.

Horrible for the environment. Turbines suck in insects which brings birds looking for an easy meal. They all get slaughtered.

Also the energy and material needed to build them is substantial. After they reach the end of their useful lifespans, disposing of them is very difficult. They are giant.

First trains and now wind farms!

Holyshit.

Let's take out the phonographs and have a shindig with no malarkey!

*Can we just highlight the mindnumbing stupidity from liberals, progressives etc.
1. end energy independence, therefore, having to purchase oil that needs to be shipped in boats that use - fossil fuels.
2. create more wind farms that traditionally underproduce, cannot be recycled, and kill shite tons of wildlife? not to mention huge fricking eyesores.
3 create shite tons of electric cars that have to be run on lithium batteries that cannot be recycled.

how fricking stupid
