100%. I enjoyed all of his first three years. He was hungry, kept pushing everyone in the right direction, and it was fun to watch. It has been equally painful to watch him become the antithesis of himself pre championship and destroy everything he helped build.

I honestly think we have seen two very different people in the head coaching role. The first guy was over the moon when he got his second shot and was going to work all day every day to figure out how to make it better. Two things have seemed to change that; the championship and the divorce. He, at a base level, has had a seismic shift in the kind of person he is and it shows. Nowhere near the drive and focus to get better and his ego has convinced him its just going to fall into place again the way it did before and it just isn't.

Thanks for the memories coach, see you on down the road.

It was 100% worth it and I’ll likely never experience that kind of football high in my life. But it also made me truly believe that we could compete with bama and the other big dogs on a consistent basis in the future. No way I believed it would end this quick.

It was worth it. Every time I get upset this season, I look at the photo on the wall, autographed by Chase, Jefferson and Clyde.

Good points by OP. And of all the the twists and turns of the Ed O years, the "we coming'" line and the fact that his team actually went over there the next time and beat Bama (while posting the most points ever scored by an opponent there in 4 quarters) was the most shocking to me. That shite actually happened and it was fantastic to witness.

Some random guy that no one’s ever heard of outside of 24/7 rant dwellers? Yeah totally that guy, he’s the reason. Funny how I didn’t hear his name during Joe Burrow’s Heisman acceptance speech but heard Joe get choked up thanking O.

2019 was like dating a really smokin hot girl that's a tiger in the bedroom, but obviously not marriage material or one you want to take home to mom.

She was a blast while you had those crazy arse drunken nights together and sang karaoke at the dive bar until 2am Saturdays, but you were too embarrassed by her to take her to church with the family the next morning.

Ed was fun while he lasted and gave us a great time, but we grew up and now it's time to settle down for marriage

No. It wasn't. Much of the fanbase became lethargic based on the previous two seasons, and I'd rather see sustained success and a positive long-term trajectory than some flash in the pan season that ends up with the program on a major downswing following it.

I am not expected Alabama success, but I do expect what Clemson and tOSU have, which is not unreasonable.

I give O credit for staying out of the way and letting Brady and aranda do there thing. Couldn’t be happier how that season played out. Once O started tinkering to wanting a 4-3 with 3-4 personnel and just god awful hires he sunk the program back to 1999

I liked him when we beat clemson, then hated him the next season because people were giving him a pass for tanking the program because I guess covid only affected Louisiana and LSU is the only team that have players go to the NFL.

Totally agree...was saying this on an earlier thread today! Give O his due for 2019, but now it's time to move on...

The bottom line is that 2019 literally was a mythical dream season. I think at LSU you only get one like that once in a lifetime. I knew that I could die happy after that season.

Of course it was worth it. However, I didn't like O before he was hired, didn't like him after he was hired, didn't like him during 2019 and still dislike that meathead. Ive never, ever, made a positive post about that fricker.

Ask anyone in the stands, let alone the student section, at this Saturday’s game who Bill Busch is, 9 out of every 10 fans will look at you completely puzzled.

Please log off and spend more time outside.

Please stop posting. I hated the hire. But the man delivered. That was his team. Joe Burrow always said it was O who got him to LSU and gave him the chance he knew he deserved.

I gave him a pass last year not bc of COVID but bc so many players sat out.

He lost his mind with the divorce. I knew we were in trouble when I read he got divorced because I know I lost my mind too when I divorced. He’s gotta go now though because he’s run the program into the ground. I hope for his sake and everybody around him he gets it together mentally for his future endeavors

I admit it and I give credit where credit is due. Orgeron orchestrated it.
