Why doesn’t Entergy just tell NOLA To go get fricked?
Posted on 9/23/21 at 9:20 pm to Schmelly
Probably because they make a lot of money off of them?
Posted on 9/23/21 at 9:27 pm to fightin tigers
No, no they don't. Hence the trying to get the frick out.

You mean getting the entire city back up and running in under 2 weeks after a direct hit from a Cat 5?
Entergy did fine, but let’s not be dramatic. New Orleans got a tropical storm with cat 1 gusts. Sustained winds in the city only got in the 50s mph. A high number of hours of tropical storm conditions will frick up any power grid.

Some NOLA residents were unhappy that Entergy fixed the lines on Bourbon before they got to residential areas.

I agree that was odd. Guess they figured the city being dark would be a bigger PR hit. Like Latoya and her minions weren't going to complain no matter what.

Finally, the council approved measures to develop criteria for a management audit of Entergy New Orleans and put out a bid for contractors who could produce a report on alternatives to the power company.
What in the frick does this even mean?

LaToya is a criminal and an idiot. But every member, and I mean EVERY member, of the city council is just as stupid and criminal.
Every city council member should be fired on the spot how fukin stupid can these people get? They had the power back on in 7-10 days in one of the worst hurricanes ever..

Just going to pay a family member a bunch of tax payer money to say "you should keep Entergy"

think entergy did a great job. I mean they had stuff back on line in a week and a half after a catastrophic failure. That’s pretty good.
That’s why they’re investigating, the city isn’t used to things happening that fast

Prepare to be underwhelmed.

Figured that they powered up the substation that fed the FQ along with others and since the FQ is mostly underground there was little repair needed to restore power once leaving the substation.

Waste. Of. Time.
The same 3 or 4 posters come in here and shoot down every thread and comment that suggests Entergy needs to do better and be held accountable for the shitty infrastructure.
Why do you blow off any notion that customers in a hurricane zone deserve better?
Do you think it's okay for Entergy to continue to replace janky arse poles with janky arse poles and make no effort to underground or clear trees from power lines in cities?

It means the city doesn’t have a fricking clue but they are going to proceed to frick shite up so they find themselves in charge of something they don’t have a fricking clue about

Lake Charles didn't probe Entergy Louisiana after Laura obliterated the grid over there.
People just understand the eye while it was still a strong CAT3 crossed over all of the Transmission infrastructure that feeds New Orleans from around/south of Baton Rouge (mainly Willow Glen) (with exception of the line in NOLA east that goes to Slidell)

This has been beat to death that underground is barely feasible in the city. Go dig a hole 2’ deep and look what your left with it’s either chock full of trash , on top of other utilities, or your at the water table. you aren’t putting electrical utilities in a trench and you really don’t want to see the cost of a directional bore .

It kind of blows my mind thinking about the hubris it takes for people to be up in arms about this. Folks were bitching about not having contraflow out of the city to evacuate prior to the storm, and now they’re bitching about having to go a week and a half without power after the same storm that they wanted to evacuate away from.

I’m over trying to explain that

They pay up ya poor. You have to pay more if you want better. Better infrastructure equals rates go up.....and then you complain. It's like saying you want a million dollar house for 200 grand. You live in fantasy land
