C'mon, man. We're talking SEC officials. Been amongst the worst of the worst going on 20 years.

I mean, most perplexing is how the chain crew didn't notice. They have one job. You think they would have noticed that the ball was caught on the other 45-yard-line.

Hey if the CEO of the company doesn't say something, you need to be quiet.

How would an official statistician account for the 10 yds?

During ucla game Everytime we had the ball you could hear piped in noise, like really loud and I never heard anybody bring it up ? I know some of you heard what I'm talking about, right ???

It wasn't always stopping on Saturday night. I thought it was a new rule change I didn't know about.

Saban would have ran on the field and threw his headset at one of the refs
It’s all making sense. Saban had orders passed down to this officiating crew to do this. And if it went unnoticed, well, IF our game with them happens to be close, the ole “wrong yard line” play will be called, and likely go unnoticed again.

I guess as long as it was 1 and 10 they were happy ??

Not sure but this was allowed in 2020. Maybe they kept it in place for this season thinking fans wouldn't show up

It’s not like we pay people to actually pay attention to the game.

SEC Shorts made fun of the officials and didn't even mention that.
What about the ref calling the punt dead and changing his mind after the player from Memphis picked it up and started running. He literally waved it dead.

What is most weird is the players didn't catch it. How did Max not catch it? Too weird. I'm going to go back and watch this play.
Edit: Went back and watched and this was the play that was reviewed and the 'incomplete pass' was overturned. Appears that players and coaches were focused elsewhere during the break. Announcers definitely caught it - kind of funny.

I was in the "UCLA drunk and heavily tattooed" section. All I heard is slurring gangbanger wannabes.

Same way not a single coach noticed they were punting on 3rd down in that other game Saturday.
Tunnel vision.

Even more incredibly boneheaded by our coaching staff for not catching it.

I didn’t notice at the game. It was 35-7 abc we were having a grand time

That play was reviewed too. The replay official told them to spot the ball at the 45, maybe he could have said which one.

Bro, basically the clock doesn’t stop on 1st downs anymore. It’s a very, very short period of time. It doesn’t stop on out of bounds plays either outside of the last 2 minutes of a half.
