Haven't seen any types of A/C units but Lowe's are getting in some centrifugal blower fans that will definitely make an area more bearable.

We just loaded a huge Box truck with water, 3 generators and other supplies from our Church members.

It left for Jefferson parish yesterday morning. We will load it up again tomorrow and it will be down there Friday.

It's a blessing to help people.

Does anyone know of a contractor that could gut part of a house in Norco? My 90 yr old grandma’s house sustained lots of water damage. I’m out of state, and my parents aren’t in the shape to demo it themselves. Not surprisingly, finding a contractor has proven to be difficult. Thanks!

This whole area has power restored except for my residence. The transformer for this house is obscured from the roadway, so power crews unfamiliar with the area easily miss it. No damage to equipment is visible. Just needs the switch thrown I assume.
I called Entergy twice and the nice lady assured me a "crew was enroute", however there is "no expected time of arrival". I know many thousands of people have it much worse than me. Any ideas how to get someone out here for a fairly minor repair job?

The Home Depot in Laplace had a truck load yesterday when they opened.

I’ll see if they have any tomorrow and I’ll pick one up for you.

How can I give money to the effort?
I am in Massachusetts, so I can't give any time. I have money though. I would love to give.

Also, are there any places that the mail is delivering in the hardest hit areas?

If anyone needs a Generator, I will be more than happy to loan mine out once my power is restored. Hoping it will not be too much longer.

Sorry Brass, my internet goes off for hours, then back on, and haven’t been on much. My brother from Laffy was able to find the AC I needed, brought last night, and it’s working. We now have a cool bedroom.

Appreciate you and everyone else helping. For real.

Prairieville Food update…

Here To Serve did 600 meals for lunch (hamburgers) and we are getting dinner ready.

Tonight we are doing spaghetti with meatballs, green beans, and garlic bread for 700 meals.

We have met many wonderful people but there is still a lot of need here. If anyone wants to donate to the food budget please go to:

Heretoserveinc.org. And click on the donate button. All money goes to food and supplies, we have no paid employees. We are all volunteers.

Thanks

I am in Houma, brought dozens of tarps and other supplies from TN to help family and friends, have excess tarps happy to sell to anyone for what I paid instead of taking them back to Home Depot and returning them.

Have sizes from 8x10 to 40x60, not looking for any profit just trying to recoup a small fraction of what We spent ($20k+) to come help our families and friends out.

Text if I can help. ( deleted # heading back to TN) will be back next week

Are there any companies doing cleanup? My great aunt is pushing 90 and has a ton of big trees down in Hammond - my 65 year old uncle tried to start cutting them up and killed a chain saw and had to get another - looking for someone that might have something better suited for trees 3+ feet in diameter.
