That’s awful. Why do people do this.
The bed on that truck alone cost more then most normal cars sold. That’s easily a 40-50k investment. I say investment because when the truck wears out, and he buys a new one, he’ll probably put it on the new truck.

Looks like they forgot to clearcoat it.
Not impressed.

Your looking at well over $100k there with rig, machine, and tools, if everything is new.

I’ve seen some on the ROW that make that rig look like shite.

What is awful? It’s obviously a welding truck…I think just by the nature of it a custom bed is needed. That one is a serious step up from a flat bed

In my opinion, the only thing lacking is the lack of lead wells to lock those leads up. Leaving them rolled up is eventually asking someone to come cut them off for scrap copper. Other than that setup is pretty ideal.

That’s a mud board so he can lay down in the bottom of a 8ft gar hole that’s continuously pumping water that’s in the bottom while he makes all that “easy money”.
That truck prolly makes 50$ an hour 16hr days 7 days a week or it don’t leave the house hoss!!!!

He might be on my friend’s crew. They’re hot tapping and diverting/bypassing a 30” line right now. Fixing/replacing a valve I believe.

Was at a house in Atlanta when a road construction crew hit a high pressure gas line with an excavator, right between the sidewalk and the street, that linked the entire gas network across 75/85. At 4:30 on a Friday.
I was talking to the guy that was waiting for the green ?light to jump in the hole to hot tap a bypass line, then replacing/sleeving/whatever needed to be done to patch the line.
He told me his base rate, then listed about a dozen multipliers that applied: weekend, after dark, hot work, and way more that I can't remember.
Dude was making like 2 months worth of his regular pay for doing about 1-2 hours of work spread out over maybe 5-6 hours of being on site.

I do fracture mechanics analyses on pressure vessels and pressure piping…probably everyone in production makes more than me.
