Intersquad Scrimmages will be open just not the practice part per coach
Tutko to send schedule out weekly
Big recruit visiting this weekend from Pennsylvania must be Kling
Several visits lined up for auburn and fla game per coach
Champion was in last couple of days and he all but confirmed that commit recruited as pitcher but can also hit
Will have dinner with nolas once season ends and sat with past players in suite at last football game
He explained how they use analytics using their CWS game against Kumar Rocker even though they lost the game - they broke down Rocker's strikeouts for the year and noted that 10 of the 100+ were on fastballs and the rest were on his slider or other pitches. The key was to lay off the slider and make him throw that for a strike. He had 30 plus pitches in first and didn't make it out of fifth. Plate discipline was very high on his priority and biggest way to get in his doghouse.

I assume Cooper is the son of Jeff Winchester? Wasn't he committed to LSU but drafted high and signed?
Yes. Cooper is Jeff's son. Jeff's siblings were also athletes. Jeff committed to LSU but instead played several years in the minors. He's still a catching guru - and could definitely swing it in his day, so I'm sure he has that covered from a coaching perspective, too. It looks like Cooper may end up a bit taller than Jeff.
