So called smart homes with similar devices have been limiting the temperature settings on homeowners in areas with power shortages. They can be controlled by the manufacturer or companies they’ve sold access to. Enjoy the convenience, but take a picture of the wiring of your old one before you make the swap and hang on to it. I’ve seen some Facebook Karens cackling about being hot and unable to lower the temperature below 76F.
