"this summer"

Kane back this season is huge and takes some pressure off the need for a creative attacking mid. That being said, I still think if the window ended today we will have dropped the ball on adding what we needed to this squad. Romero is huge signing, but another CB and or right back was a big need. We also desperately need an attacking mid and a striker to provide cover for Kane.
Hopefully Paratichi can address a few of those areas before the window closes, but I don't have a ton of confidence we will get anyone else in or move guys like Sissoko, Aurier, Winks, etc.
Here is my somewhat realistic dream scenario to close the window out...
IN
Harry(didn't sell to Oil FC)
Romero
Gil
Gollini
Sarr(back on loan)
Daamsgard/Sabitzer/Aouar
Striker on loan
Tomiyasu
Out:
Lamela
Sissoko
Aurier
Winks
Tanguy(If the price is right and we bring in a replacement)
Viniscus(Back to Benfica)
Bale(Back to RM)
COYS!

I think CB can be okay this year assuming Romero turns out to be a good signing. You have to rely on Sanchez, Dier, or Rodon being serviceable. Bigger holes elsewhere.
RB has me a tad more worried with Doherty failing to deliver.
Most worrying is a press-resistent midfielder if Ndombele isn't brought back into the fold.
Deadwood needs to be moved on as well.

I agree with that. I like the Tomiyasu option because of his ability to provide cover at CB and RB.
Man Doherty felt like such a good deal at the time, but that signing just keeps looking worse.
I really wish they could convince Ndombele to give AF.

New rumor
Hopefully replacement for Sissoko and/or Winks
quote:
Roger Gonzalez @RGonzalezCBS · 1h I can confirm ?????????????? Tottenham's recent interest in USMNT and Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie, as reported by The Independent. Time is ticking...
Hopefully replacement for Sissoko and/or Winks

McKennie and Hojberg bossing the midfield would be pretty fun.

I might get some hate for this, and as much as I like mckennie with USMNT, I really hope this transfer doesn’t happen.
We desperately need a creative midfielder that can unlock defenses, or at least a midfielder that can push forward with the ball while maintaining possession. Mckennie does neither really. I know Juventus played him higher up the pitch most of the time, but his strengths are more similar to Hojbjerg & skipp imo. Good effort, good defensively, great mentality.
I think he’s good enough to be a solid squad player for Tottenham, but given current needs, and the fact that we already have Hojbjerg & skipp, he’s far down on my list.

Fab Romano with some good news on our dead weight situation
quote:
Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano · 1h Watford have opened talks with Tottenham for Moussa Sissoko, the agreement is ‘possible’ - work in progress for the outgoings on Spurs side. #THFC #WatfordFC
Serge Aurier will be an option for Lille only if Celik leaves. Still looking for a solution for Tanguy Ndombele.

I'm glad Kane is playing, but I don't love Nuno giving him the armband tonight if I'm honest.
Maybe it's all water under the bridge, but I still don't think it's great optics.

Same.
As for the game, I was really hoping Gil was going to get his goal. Tireless worker with skill.

Should’ve let Portuguese Maldini Dier rock the armband

Bryan Gil is the real deal. This kid is gonna be dynamite and I think his impact will start this year.

Much easier than typing the whole thing. Spurs Tier 1 reporter Ali Gold breaking down everything going into the end of the window

From Pep. I think he may be a bit salty
"Tottenham did not want to negotiate. They didn’t want to talk, so we didn’t talk. We tried to open the door but the big master of negotiations, Daniel Levy, who knows everything, wouldn’t. Maybe I would do the same if I had Harry Kane."
"I wish him(Kane) all the best and of course the last years in his career doing well in London."

He’s going to be even saltier if Man U steal Ronaldo from right under him
