re: Manhattan DA charges Trump's company, CFO with tax fraud

You cannot be serious can you? First of all just analyze the materiality of this. $1.8 million multiplied by the effective tax rate is likely less than $750K in taxes over 15 years. And that is assuming they can prove it was fraudulent and no statute of limitations apply. How many millions will be spent on this?
100% politically motivated and that should frighten/anger everyone.

The CFO will get off, maybe pay a fine. But they got the headline and that's all they wanted to begin with.
This will be presented on CNN as a “major” case of tax fraud, that Donald Trump had to know about it, if not personally authorize it, etc. CNN viewers are incapable of differentiating between Trump’s personal tax returns, and those of the corporation. They actually believe Trump sits at his desk with a form 1040, a pencil, and does his tax returns.

Do you believe the first half before I answer the second half?
Yup. Find one example of fringe employee benefits being prosecuted as tax fraud. I’ll wait.

I’m suggesting the Dems in charge play their base like they’re retards, because only retards would fall for the same BS over and over. There’s no concern that their sheep will ever go, “hey wait, you mean to tell me the big bad Trump organization, after 2 years of scrutiny, is so clean that all that’s found is an officer not reporting a company paid car and apartment as income?” Because this after all the other fake crimes, fake crisis, fake existential threats would cause rational people to stop believing and perhaps start feeling disdain for people that play them for idiots.
I follow. I'm just saying that humans don't work like that.
What do you think would happen if someone was suggesting the Repubs in charge play their base like they’re retards, because only retards would fall for the same BS over and over. There’s no concern that their sheep will ever go, “hey wait, you mean to tell me the big bad Clinton family and organization, after 30-plus years of scrutiny, is so clean that neither of them nor their foundation has ever been charged with anything? A government with unlimited funds over 3 years can find shite to file charges against anyone. Donald Trump, IMHO, is the cleanest best law abiding president of my lifetime. No President has ever endured the scrutiny under a microscope that Trump has had to experience.
Frick everyone in that DA’s office for moving forward with charges. IF and I mine IF there were “accounting” issues……that is not handled in criminal court.

It almost reads as if the CFO committed fraud against Trump.

It's not considered a "crime" by the IRS. This is standard operating procedure for executives in large corporations whether they be in New York, Dallas, Chicago, LA or Silicon Valley....especially Silicon Valley. It's not about Weisselberg's day in court, it's the idea that this would even be in court. This tends to be something that at worst should be in an Administrative Court which is basically arbitration. If the DA wants to use this with a bullshite threat of jail time that not even the IRS would pursue for the amounts stated....1.7 - 1.8 million over a 15-16 year period I think this is pretty weak stuff. You are talking about 110,000.00 a year. And leading Weisselberg away in cuffs is severe bullshite that they don't even do to real POS tax cheats that thrive Midtown posing as Hedge Fund Managers.
Like I said in an earlier thread as being in the counsel office at a very large firm in St.Louis we dealt with this shite on a regular basis and in a few cases with greater amounts over a shorter term and none saw the inside of a courtroom....at least on the federal level....on the state level they would not pursue
This is pretty textbook income under-reporting. The law is super clear on what counts as income & what is taxable and a CFO isn't gonna be able to play dumb. Leaving aside that at the moment, this is just a state crime, the IRS does charge this kind of thing criminally. They took down a bunch of NBA refs a decade back for not reporting income made from downgrading their first class plane tickets to coach and pocketing the cash difference. That was a much smaller $$$ than this. Maybe he pays a fine. Maybe he does a little bid. No big deal.

i saw there were 15 felonies being charged. or was it just 15 separate counts of the same thing.
also they are saying it was an entire system of tax fraud, not just the CFO

Dude should just pay any taxes he owes like the rest of us do. Not face jail time for a politically motivated prosecution.

Is it your belief that you can just not report some your income to the IRS thus avoiding taxes on that income without sanction? If so, is that true just for Trump affiliated people or can others also just not report all their income too?

What fake existential threat is being championed by the Right?
Further, it’s kinda funny reading through your whataboutism. You seem to be unaware of the fact that a majority of conservatives are at odds with Republican leadership/political class because those morons are part of the useful idiots team for the progressive Left. So I’d say your suggestion that conservatives aren’t skeptical/disdainful of Republican leadership is about as accurate as the world ending in ten years, Jim Eagle, cops hunting black men, etc.

About the Clintons? Are you serious? Depends on the decade - there was much ado about a land deal they lost money on, much of this board is convinced they are serial killers, there was the whole Benghazi thing, I'm not sure exactly what the Clinton Foundation did wrong, but there's plenty of rage there, there is a belief that both are apparently key members of the cabal of satanic, cannibalistic pedophiles secretly running the country, but most importantly, Hilary followed suboptimal email security procedures and thus was going to be locked up. I probably missed a few things, there was always something.

After being promised that she would be locked up, Hilary is still free. But the breaking of that promise hasn't caused any of the sheep who believed it to turn on anybody. Because that's not how people work.
Your premise is completely wrong anyway. I suspect I have a much better handle on what is going on in lefty circles than you. There are folks who think this is a good scalp, but there is not a lot of expectation that Trump ever ends up in jail in general and most lefties don't expect this thing to touch Trump personally. So there will be no revolt when it doesn't.

Yeah. I don’t remember anybody considering the Clintons an existential threat. Assholes and corrupt, sure - but existential threat?

You started by suggesting my premise is completely wrong, then the rest of the paragraph you gave all the reasons I’m right in what I wrote ... with the exception of your belief that Dems never expected this to touch Trump. I think you’re very wrong about that.

Just your pound of flesh to ruin the life of some guy nobody ever heard of in hopes of dissuading others from aligning with anyone who might want to cross your political side in the future, right.

The "except" is why I think your premise is wrong. Like I said, I'm pretty sure I have a better handle on what's going on with the left that you do. If you disagree that's cool.

lmao - so you’re comparing the radical outer fringe of the Right to mainstream Democrats. Okay.
Par for the course from the Left.

Are you seriously suggesting that Dems, led by their politicians and media, have never held a belief that Trump and his organization were/are criminally corrupt?
And if you really believe that, why are you okay with DOJ and state attorneys general criminally pursuing a man everyone agrees has done nothing criminally wrong?

I didn't charge him with anything. Maybe don't cheat on your taxes for 15 years. He'll pay his fine or do a little time. He'll be fine. S
Weird that there is so much sympathy for some guy nobody has ever heard of who is just a multi-millionaire who has spent the last decade committing tax fraud. And your concern for this tax cheat is in no way related to him being in Trump's orbit. No Siree. Pure coincidence...
