The south has the incoming civil war.

Yeah, that isn't right.
This one makes more sense.
Oklahoma is at 55%, Nebraska at 45%, Texas at 46%, and Ohio at 50%.

It’s a no brainer that the gun ownership percentage for the state is going to lag behind the south.
well, we're talking about registered guns, right? I've got a safe full of guns that the government isn't aware of, hand me downs, gifts, gun show purchases, etc., probably a fair margin of error in those stats

The eastern third of Texas is as much Southern as Louisiana or Mississippi.
All metro areas will have a different culture, but Texas is gun country. People just don't register everything.
shite, showing Alaska at 61% should show you something is off.

The vast majority of guns in the United States are not registered. If you go to Academy and buy a handgun, it’s not registered.

Shocked that LA has more than Texas overall.

That would put 8 million gun owners in California

Glad they label my paintball equipment as Markers or I’d be in a lot of trouble

Ohio, Nebraska, Oregon, & Washington all much lower than I expected.

It's hard to buy a gun when you don't have a social security number. Since we've had a recent population explosion there's just not enough employees at the social security office to get them one.

This is a percent of those who admit to owning guns.

More guns than Louisiana?!
No
Just a larger percentage of the population that own a gun

I'm shocked.

Most of the people I personally know in the Sound area believe guns will unilaterally turn on them and kill them one night when they least expect them to..

I'm surprised Texas is that low.
This map lies.

yep, I live in TX, own enough guns to outfit a platoon and none are registered

50/50 for me
Everyone else I know in WA outside that area has from 1 to many firearms. Including those that vote dem.

There's way more.
States with stricter laws will be more underreported.
Posted on 6/21/21 at 2:50 pm to blueridgeTiger
Nebraska has to be some kind of reporting or tabulation error.
Posted on 6/21/21 at 2:50 pm to blueridgeTiger
They probably couldn't poll most of WV due to being afraid to go into those hills. Another possibility is many told the old "boating accident" story.
