Well, no. They are most well known for helping lead a rebellion against the United States of America for the purpose of allowing many people to own slaves.
Why the statues were made in the first place is kind of a mystery, since they lost their treasonous rebellion and usually those who fail at committing treason aren't celebrated.
Winners, yes. Losers, no.
